Privacy Policy

Effective October 18, 2025

Pingbird safeguards production telemetry so you can operate with confidence. This policy explains what data we collect, why we process it, and the controls you have to manage or delete it. We only process personal data to deliver and improve the Pingbird service, never to sell or broker it.

🔒 What we DON'T do

Privacy is not a feature—it's our foundation. Here's what you'll never find at Pingbird:

  • ❌ No user tracking. We don't collect, analyze, or store data about your website visitors. When we monitor your site, we check availability and performance—nothing more.
  • ❌ No data selling. Your monitoring data, configurations, and insights are yours. We will never sell, rent, or broker your information to advertisers or data brokers.
  • ❌ No third-party tracking scripts. Pingbird doesn't use invasive analytics, advertising pixels, or behavioral tracking tools. We use only Vercel Analytics for basic page view counts—no personal data.
  • ❌ No unnecessary data retention. We automatically purge monitoring telemetry based on your plan's retention window. When you delete your account, your data is gone within 30 days.
  • ❌ No hidden data collection. The data we collect is limited to what's required for authentication, monitoring operations, and billing. That's it.
  • ❌ No sharing without your consent. We only share data with essential service providers (Stripe for payments, Resend for emails) who are contractually bound to protect it. No marketing partners. No advertising networks.

Privacy by design. Every feature we build starts with one question: "How can we do this without compromising user privacy?" This isn't marketing—it's how we operate.

Personal data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to run monitoring, alerting, and billing. Specifically we gather:

  • Account details. Email address, username, authentication factors, and audit timestamps so you can securely sign in and recover your workspace.
  • Subscription records. Plan selection, invoices, and payment status processed through Stripe to manage upgrades, downgrades, and receipts.
  • Operational telemetry. Project names, check configurations, run results, and alert preferences so we can deliver the monitoring insights you request.
  • Support context. Messages, attachments, and phone details you send to support so we can respond and resolve issues quickly.

We do not collect end-user traffic logs or marketing profile data. Pingbird avoids invasive tracking pixels and third-party advertising networks.

How we use your data

We process personal data solely to operate Pingbird:

  • Authenticate users, secure sessions, and authorize access to projects.
  • Provision monitoring checks, deliver alerts, and surface health insights.
  • Issue invoices, confirm payments, and send critical service notices.
  • Respond to questions, troubleshoot incidents, and improve reliability.

We may send you product updates or onboarding tips. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time from account settings or by contacting support.

Data sharing and subprocessors

We limit data access to trusted vendors required to operate Pingbird. Key subprocessors include Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Vercel (hosting). Each provider is contractually bound to protect personal data and only process it for the services we request.

We share data with authorities if legally required or to protect Pingbird and our customers from fraud, abuse, or security threats. We do not sell personal data or allow advertising partners to track activity across Pingbird.

Data retention and deletion

We retain account and billing records while your workspace remains active. Monitoring telemetry is stored according to the plan you select and automatically purged once retention windows expire. When you close an account, we delete personal data within 30 days unless legal obligations require a longer retention period.

You can export project data at any time from the console or by contacting support. Requests for deletion are honored promptly once we verify the account owner.

Security practices

Pingbird encrypts data in transit and at rest, enforces host-only secure cookies, and restricts administrative access to audited personnel. We monitor for suspicious activity, patch dependencies quickly, and maintain incident response playbooks to reduce downtime.

If we ever identify a breach affecting your data, we will notify impacted customers without undue delay and provide remediation guidance.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Pingbird honors these rights globally. Email support@pingbird.xyz and we will respond within 30 days.
